Kolkata Police step up drive against misuse of blue beacon

Kolkata police have initiated a massive drive against cars with blue beacons. Initial investigations revealed that a large number of cars fitted with blue beacons move around the city. ANM News reporters have checked to find that most of these blue and sometimes red beacon fitted cars have tinted window glasses making it difficult for anybody to identify the occupant. ANM News tracked many of the blue beacon fitted vehicles to find that they are private cars hired by respective government departments for their senior officers. 

Many times, the blue beacon fitted vehicles have the private owners as occupant. ANM News reporters have also found that close and extended family members use the blue beacon fitted vehicles for private chores. ANM News has also noticed that a large number of people use the light clandestinely.
