By A Staff Reporter — The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President, Sanjay Singh, has confirmed that the Indian wrestling team will participate in the upcoming Senior World Wrestling Championship, set to commence in Tirana, Albania, on October 28. Despite internal disputes, Singh shared that the Sports Ministry urged the WFI to send the team, emphasizing the importance of representing the nation and supporting athletes’ aspirations on the global stage.
"Whatever issues there are, they will be resolved through legal means," Singh assured, addressing concerns over ongoing tensions within the wrestling federation. The ministry’s decision to prioritize athletes’ participation reflects a commitment to supporting their training and competition schedules, with an understanding that administrative issues will be handled through appropriate channels.
The World Championship provides a valuable opportunity for Indian wrestlers to compete against top international talent and to further showcase the country’s standing in the sport.
