Spurs in pole position to sign James Maddison

Avideep Nandi Majumdar: London based side Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to sign relegated Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. He has one year contract left. According to reports he was also on the radar of Newcastle United, however they have cooled interest and instead, now Tottenham are favorites to sign him.

New manager Ange Postecogolou is very eager to bolster his attacking options, and reduce the workload on 2 great servants of the club, Harry Kane and Son heung Min. Last season inspite of a  difficult campaign, he managed to score 10 goals and give 9 assists in 30 appearances. Since joining from Norwich City, he has established himself as one of the most prolific midfielders of the premier league, scoring 43 times in 163 appearances. At Norwich, he was also named Norwich Citys player of the season and won an award for that. Besides that he also received a nomination for EFL Championship Young Player of the season award.
