The Kalinga Super Cup is about to start, the excitement is high among the football lovers

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Kalinga Super Cup is about to start in Odisha. All India Football Federation match schedule announced. The matches are planned to be held at two different venues in Odisha Both Indian Super League and I-League teams are invited to participate in the annual tournament. The format of the tournament will consist of four groups of four teams, who will play single-leg matches against each other.

I-League teams will play qualifiers to advance to the group stage of the Kalinga Super Cup where four slots are reserved for them in the group stage. According to sources, the Kalinga Super Cup champions will be nominated to play in the ACL 2 preliminary stage of the AFC 2023-24 season.

AIFF President Mr. Kalyan Choubey said, “The decision we had taken earlier, the annual Super Cup tournament will now be organized on a bigger and broader scale. The tournament will now be known as the Kalinga Super Cup and will be played in January 2024 in Odisha. This is a positive development for Indian domestic football. I am sure the Kalinga Super Cup will be a huge hit both in terms of organization and audience interest. "
