Shubman Gill Hints at Possible Debut for Anshul Kamboj Ahead of 4th Test vs England

Manchester, July 22: Ahead of the fourth Test against England, Indian Men’s Test captain Shubman Gill acknowledged the challenges of having to adjust team combinations after each match but indicated that such scenarios were anticipated prior to the series.

“Firstly, it is not ideal when you have to go back and have a different combination after every match. But I was prepared for this before the series. So, I had planned for it before the series on how we're going to go about it,” Gill said during the pre-match press conference in Manchester.

In a significant team update, Gill revealed that young fast bowler Anshul Kamboj is close to making his Test debut. “Anshul Kamboj is very close to making his debut. We are going to see tomorrow whether Anshul or Prasidh is going to make it to the playing 11,” he said, indicating a likely pace selection decision between the debutant and the more experienced Prasidh Krishna.
