In Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, former Indian hockey goalkeeper and Paris Olympics bronze medallist PR Sreejesh reflected on the performance of Indian goalkeepers following the team's victory in the Asian Champions Trophy. He pointed out that the tournament is not the ideal platform to assess the goalkeepers' true potential, given India's dominance in Asian hockey. "Asian Champions Trophy is not the right platform where you can analyse goalkeepers because when it comes to Asian hockey, we are the dominating team comparatively," Sreejesh noted.

Sreejesh expressed his anticipation for the upcoming Pro League, where he expects a more competitive environment to better showcase the abilities of goalkeepers Krishan Pathak and Suraj Karkera. "I am waiting for this Pro League to start so that I can see how these people are really going to perform," he said, acknowledging their experience and potential.

With Sreejesh no longer in the squad, he believes the absence of his influence gives Pathak and Karkera the freedom to perform at their best. "They don't have the shadow of Sree bhai with them. So, there will be a healthy fight between them," he remarked, adding that this newfound freedom could be their advantage in upcoming competitions.
