Neymar Jr made his debut for Brazil in a 2-0 away win against the United States on 10 August,2010 where he scored in the 28th minute. He again netted in a 2-0 win against Scotland at Emirates Stadium. In that match a banana peel was thrown at him which resulted in a controversy. On 11 May 2012 he participated in London 2012 Olympic games where he scored and assisted against Great Britain, Egypt, Belarus, Honduras as Brazil lost to Mexico in the finals. He got his first Brazil hattrick in a 8-0 win over China. He also had a successful 2013 Confederations cup and scored against Japan, scored and assisted against Mexico, scored again against Italy and received man of the match for the 3red time. He also scored and assisted against Spain in the final. In the 2014 wc he scored 3 times as Brazil made to semi finals. He has also reached COPA final and been a runner's up and also in 2022 wc he had scored Brazils goal in knockout games against South Korea and Croatia as Brazil wrote knocked out in Quarter Finals. Personally he has also won Puskas award, Ballon d or and in 2018 he was rated by football france as 3rd most highest paid athlete in the world. However some critics have accused him of diving, feigning injuries on the field. He will hope to lead Brazil to wc finals in 2026.
