Morocco- are writing quite a story at women's World Cup. Last year, their men's team created history by becoming the first African Side to reach the world Cup semi finals, and now their women's side have created history by reaching the knock out phrase in their debut tournament where they will meet European Heavyweights France. Their story has been nothing short of incredible-They had lost their first match to two time Champions Germany by a whooping score of 6-0. Everyone thought they will struggle and will exit the tournament early. However, Morocco managed to compose themselves and in the next match they secured a win by 1-0 against South Korea. The managed to shut out and nullify the Korean attacks through disciplined and organised defence. In the last match, they were pitted against Colombia. It was a must win match for them to qualify. The scenario was simple-Not only did they had to win, but also had to better Germany's score. It seemed impossible, as South Korea seemed no match for the Europeans. However, the miracle happened and they managed to qualify for the knockout stages by finishing in the second position, ahead of Germany. Now they will look to extend their surprise run to quarter finals by defeating France.
