Bhubaneswar – Indian women's hockey team captain Salima Tete expressed her satisfaction after a hard-fought victory against England in their opening match of the FIH Hockey Pro League. The Indian team secured a crucial three points, demonstrating resilience and determination throughout the game.

“We came thinking that we have to take three points, and finally we got it. A win is a win, be it by one goal or two goals,” Tete said, highlighting the significance of the victory.

Reflecting on the team's performance, she acknowledged the fighting spirit displayed by the players, especially their ability to strike back with consecutive goals. “We did not give up and scored goals back to back,” she added.

However, the Indian skipper also recognized areas for improvement, stating, “We will improve the mistakes we have made today.”
