New Delhi: The Indian bowling unit was made to work hard on a sluggish, unresponsive surface but eventually held their nerve to bring the team within touching distance of a 2-0 series win over the West Indies on the fourth day of the second Test on Monday.
After a gritty display from the West Indian batters stretched the contest deep into the afternoon session, India’s bowlers stuck to their plans with patience and precision. The visitors were eventually dismissed, setting India a modest target of 121 runs to chase.
In response, India reached 63 for 1 at stumps, needing another 58 runs on the final day to complete a clean sweep. Despite the challenging nature of the pitch, openers provided a steady start before losing an early wicket, leaving the chase delicately poised heading into Day 5.
