New Delhi: Indian hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh has described being listed for the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award as the "biggest recognition" of his life. The star drag-flicker, who has played a pivotal role in India's recent successes in hockey, expressed his happiness and gratitude while reflecting on his journey.
“(It's the) biggest recognition of my life. It's a big achievement for me. I am really very happy. I think it's the best part of my life that I am getting such a huge award and recognition,” Singh said in an emotional statement.
Harmanpreet, who has been a cornerstone of the Indian hockey team, spoke about the challenges and lessons from his career. “Throughout my journey I have learnt a lot. I have seen a lot of ups and downs, including wins and losses. But I think you only learn from those experiences,” he remarked.
He emphasized his growth-oriented mindset and dedication to self-improvement. “From day one, my mindset has been how to improve myself,” he added.
