Granit Xhaka has ended his 7 years association with North London based side Arsenal as he has signed a 5 year contract with German side Bayer Leverkusen for 25m Euros. The Swiss International had joined Arsenal in 2016 and had held the captaincy position for a brief time in 2019. He also was rumored to leave then as the relation between him and fans turned a bit sour after that incident at home against fellow London rivals Crystal Palace where he was booed by fans on being substituted However he repaired the relationship and became a pivotal part of the squad. He has won 2 FA Cups and also has helped Arsenal qualify for next seasons Champions League. He leaves with 23 goals in 297 appearances and his final appearences was a fairy tale one, as he scored a brace in a 5-0 home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers and also received a clap from all over the ground. He had one year left on his contract. Arsenal had rejected in 2021, a 15m Euro bid from Italian side Roma.
