New Delhi: Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was on Thursday named in India’s Test squad for the upcoming home series against the West Indies, marking his return to the longest format. The selectors also introduced a change in the batting lineup, with young left-hander Devdutt Padikkal drafted into the squad in place of Karun Nair, who has struggled for form.
Bumrah, who has been a vital part of India’s pace attack across formats, will strengthen the bowling unit ahead of the two-Test series. His inclusion is seen as a boost to India’s preparations, with the team management keen to field a balanced combination of experienced bowlers and emerging talent.
