NEW DELHI: In response to questions regarding India’s participation in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla emphasized that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is closely coordinating with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
"Talks are going on with the Pakistan Cricket Board. ICC is trying its best. Our (BCCI) stand is very clear, and we will do whatever the government will say," Shukla said during a media interaction.
Shukla’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions regarding the venue for the prestigious tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. However, the final decision regarding India’s participation will depend on the government’s stance, which remains a critical factor in the BCCI’s position.
The BCCI has previously stated that it would adhere to the Indian government’s guidelines regarding international engagements, especially in the context of political tensions between India and Pakistan. The uncertainty surrounding the event continues to spark debate, with various stakeholders awaiting the government’s decision.
