Hyderabad, Telangana: Former Indian cricket team captain and Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin offered his views on India’s recent Test match against England, acknowledging the team’s strong effort while highlighting areas for improvement. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Azharuddin noted that while India played commendably, certain strategic choices may have impacted the outcome.
“India played really well, but if Ravindra Jadeja had played slightly positively, then maybe we would have won the match,” Azharuddin said. “We worked very hard, but the result was not very good. Maybe we will do well in the next test match.”
India and England have a long-standing rivalry in Test cricket, and expectations from fans and former players alike remain high. The latest match saw India putting up a competitive performance, but falling short of a win.
Azharuddin, known for his own contributions to Indian cricket during the 1980s and 1990s, acknowledged the team's effort and spirit but hinted at the need for tactical adjustments. “In the next test matches, maybe they might make some changes,” he added, suggesting possible alterations in the playing XI or batting order.
