It also shows the country's rich cultural heritage and military might. The Constitution of India was implemented in the country on 26th January 1950, so we celebrate it every year on 26th January as Republic Day. We all know that every year, on 26th January, a parade is organized on the streets of New Delhi. But do you know that from 1950 to 1954, there was no parade on the streets. In these years, the parade on 26th January was held at Irwin Stadium (now National Stadium), Kingsway, Red Fort and Ramlila Maidan respectively.
