Women-Centric Polling Stations In Bengal Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls, few polling stations will be run entirely by women. Moreover, female security personnel will be deployed as well. Furthermore, individuals with disabilities will also run a few polling stations in West Bengal.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Tuesday notified about the installation of women-centric polling stations and polling stations for disabled individuals in West Bengal.

While addressing a presser in Kolkata, Rajiv Kumar informed that few polling stations will be run entirely by women. Moreover, female security personnel will be deployed as well. Furthermore, individuals with disabilities will also run a few polling stations in West Bengal. 

The move aims to set an example for the society that this section shall not be underestimated as it is they are not inferior to others. 

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in April or May to elect the members of the 18th Lok Sabha assembly. Moreover, the ECI will likely release the schedule for general elections this month.
