West Bengal to Host 35th All India Postal Basketball Tournament from Dec 3–6

The West Bengal Postal Circle is set to host the 35th All India Postal Basketball Tournament 2025–26, scheduled from December 3 to December 6 at the Eastern Railway Sports Academy Complex in Majherhat, Kolkata. The annual national-level sporting event will bring together top basketball talent from seven postal circles across the country.

The tournament will be inaugurated on December 3 by the Chief Postmaster General of the West Bengal Postal Circle, Shri Ashok Kumar, who will grace the occasion as the chief guest. The opening ceremony will also be attended by internationally acclaimed basketball coach Shri Satyabrata Nayak as Guest of Honour, along with several senior officials and dignitaries.

Teams from West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Odisha and Maharashtra Circles will compete in league and super-league formats over four days. The event aims to promote sporting spirit, teamwork and physical fitness among postal employees while providing a platform for talented players to showcase their skills on a national stage.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution are scheduled for December 6 from 12:30 PM onwards. Shri Ashok Kumar will again preside as chief guest, accompanied by Ms. Aparna Ghosh, Dhyan Chand Awardee and Deputy Secretary (Sports & General), Metro Railway, Kolkata, as Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries from postal and sports administrations will also be present to felicitate the winning teams and participants, marking the conclusion of the prestigious tournament.
