BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the West Bengal government has imposed section 144 in and around 500 meters of area in seven Gram Panchayats including violence-hit Sandeshkali till 19th February.

Furthermore, a gathering of four or more people will be prohibited from 13th February to 19th February in and around 500 meters of seven Gram Panchayats including Sandeshkali, Durga Mandop, Korakati, Manipur, Khulna, Bermajur II, Jeliakhali. 

Moreover, WB BJP President Sukanta Majumdar led a protest march of BJP MLAs to the SP office in Basirhat against the disrupted law and order in Sandeshkali on 13th February, Tuesday. Subsequently, a clash broke out between police personnel and BJP workers. The situation in Sandeshkali remains tense as violence and clashes have caused damage to the village.
