BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Bijay Kumar Mohapatra, the Director of Health Services, Odisha, revealed that there are 27 active cases in the state as of today and the majority of them are being treated at their homes.  

He also stated that despite the ongoing challenges, the devotion to surveillance, testing, and hospital preparations for treatment has been continuing since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Additionally, the director also disclosed that five new Covid cases were reported over the last 24 hours. He assured that the cases are being vigilantly monitored and controlled.  

Lately, the COVID cases have been on the rise across the country with the new JN.1 variant spreading in a few Indian states. With three Covid-related mortalities in a day, India has registered 636 fresh cases
