BY A STAFF REPORTER: Shortly after joining Congress, former BJP leader Tejashwini Gowda on Saturday stated that she joined Congress as she wants to save constitutional democracy.

Moreover, Tejaswini Gowda emphasized that she believes in political values and political struggles. She also recalled how Indians fought for freedom and democracy to give political opportunity to the common people. Gowda claimed that common people do not get these opportunities in BJP. She further asserted that Congress would win the upcoming elections. 

Tejaswini Gowda resigned from the Legislative Council on Thursday after not receiving a ticket from the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As per reports, she was expecting to be nominated by the BJP for the General Elections in 2024.
