Kolkata: In a sharp critique of the West Bengal government, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) has raised concerns over law and order issues in Kolkata following recent events at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. "Is there any law and order in Kolkata? Women are harassed there," Singh asserted.

He criticized the West Bengal administration, stating, "The West Bengal government is not a democratic government at all." Singh emphasized the severity of the situation, pointing out that the current state of affairs, including the harassment of women, is deeply troubling. "The atrocities against women, the way women are being harassed there, is an example in itself and it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister of that state is a woman," he added.
