Kolkata, West Bengal — Addressing the ongoing furor surrounding the tragic rape-murder incident at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh assured the public that the case is progressing smoothly through the judicial system. He responded to concerns voiced by the Junior Doctors Front and Junior Doctors Association, who have been organizing rallies and conventions demanding justice for the victim.

“It has been three months since this grievous incident occurred. The accused was promptly apprehended by the Kolkata Police within 24 hours, and the judicial process is moving forward steadily,” Ghosh stated. He highlighted that the trial is underway in a lower court, while the Supreme Court, which is monitoring the proceedings, received a status report from the CBI affirming that there were no irregularities in the investigation.

Ghosh criticized the rallies and public outcry led by groups affiliated with the Left and ultra-Left factions, attributing them to political maneuvers aimed at stirring disturbance rather than seeking justice. “The process of justice is in motion, and the judicial system is handling it with the utmost seriousness,” he remarked, emphasizing the commitment of the authorities to ensure that justice is served in the case.

According to Ghosh, while the accused is in custody and facing trial, these demonstrations are unlikely to expedite the legal process and may only heighten tensions in the region. He assured the public that the TMC government, along with the judicial system, is dedicated to a fair and timely resolution, urging citizens to respect the judicial process already in place.

The incident at RG Kar Medical College has generated widespread public attention, sparking debates on safety and security within medical institutions. The TMC leader's statements come as an effort to allay public concerns and reinforce the commitment of both the state government and judiciary in pursuing justice.
