Tiruchirapalli: PM Modi Inaugurates New Terminal Building

The two-storey Terminal can serve over 44 lakh passengers yearly and approximately 3,500 passengers during peak hours. Moreover, the terminal is constructed at over Rs. 1,100 crores.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport on 2nd January, Tuesday.  

According to the Prime Minister’s office’s Official Statement, the two-storey Terminal can serve over 44 lakh passengers yearly and approximately 3,500 passengers during peak hours. Moreover, the terminal is constructed at over Rs. 1,100 crores. 

The terminal has 60 check-in counters, five bag carousels, 60 arrival immigration counters, and 44 departure emigration counters.  

After Chennai, Tiruchirappalli Airport is the second largest airport in terms of international passenger Traffic.  

Furthermore, PM Modi laid the foundation for a cornucopia of development projects worth over Rs. 20,000 crores.
