Threatening messages to Railway Staff lands 2 in Jail in Kolkata, West Bengal

Threat to the General Manager of Eastern Railway claiming to be the secretary of TMC leader Abhishek Bannerjee.

Two people have been arrested in connection with trying to defraud and threaten the General Manager of Eastern Railway, with one claiming to be the secretary of TMC leader Abhishek Bannerjee. Following the threat, the Eastern Railway launched a complaint with the Kolkata Police and the detective department arrested 2 people. One person, Bivash Sarkar, had emailed the General Manager for getting the Railway contract for line connecting Rampurat and Swadinpur in Bengal, according to the police. Another person, Biswanath Sarkar had impersonated himself as a secretary of TMC leader Abhishek Bannerjee and demanded Rs.5,87,82,203 as tender amount, and also later called the office of General Manager and threatened them with dire consequences, and asked for money. 

As a result, a case was filed at Hare Street PS under IPC and IT Act against the 2 accused. Biivash appeared before Kolkata Court Metropolitean Magistrate Court and was remanded in jail until June 19. Biswanath, another suspect was taken into custody outside of his home.
