Strong Women-Centric Ethos: TMC As Women MPs Take Rajya Sabha Seats

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the All India Trinamool Congress praised their four Rajya Sabha candidates namely Sagarika Ghose, Mamata Thakur, Sushmita Dev, and Md Nadimul Haque on 20th February, Tuesday. 

Taking it to their X handle, the TMC expressed happiness as three women leaders along with one male member are going to represent the state in Rajya Sabha. Moreover, it remarked that TMC Rajya Sabha MPs are ready take fight against BJP 'zamindars' and work towards reestablishing a 'diverse, multi-religious, multi-caste, multi-linguistic, and inclusive India'. 

The TMC along with CM Mamata Banerjee has been heavily criticized for the Sandeshkali issue as three TMC leaders namely Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara, and Uttam Sardar have been accused of committing sexual exploitations and land-grabbing in Sandeshkali. As of now, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar have been arrested while Shahjahan Sheikh remains absconding.
