SC Permits Sharad Pawar To Use 'Man Blowing Turha' Symbol

the Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Election Commission of India to recognize the Sharad Pawar faction of NCP as 'Nationalist Congress Party - Sharad Chandra Pawar' and 'man blowing turha' as its symbol for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Election Commission of India to recognize the Sharad Pawar faction of NCP as 'Nationalist Congress Party - Sharad Chandra Pawar' and 'man blowing turha' as its symbol for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.

Moreover, the 'Man Blowing Turha' symbol will now be reserved for the NCPSCP and not allotted to any other party or candidate. 

The Top Court also ordered the Ajit Pawar Faction to release public notice for the English, Hindi, and Marathi media and mention in all its campaign advertisements that the 'clock symbol' allotted to it is subject to the outcome of the case pending before it on challenge to the ECI order of recognizing Ajit Pawar’s group as ‘real NCP’.
