Sandeshkhali Victims Are Being Threatened: Partha Biswas

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Dr. Partha Biswas, Director of the Center for SC/ST Support and Research on Friday claimed that the Sandeshkhali victims are being threatened in the aftermath of Shahjahan's return. 

Furthermore, Partha Biswas alleged that Sandeshkhali victims are being targeted, receiving threats regarding potential consequences in the absence of media coverage and upon the release of Shahjahan Sheikh. Biswas also asserted that Shahjahan Sheikh has committed atrocities against the people of Sandeshkhali for 8-10 years. Biswas claimed that Shahjahan's atrocities grew with his political power and influence in the area. In 2003, he joined CPI-M and in 2013 he joined the Trinamool Congress.

Earlier today, a delegation of Sandeshkhali victims met President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi and shared a memorandum pertaining to the Sandeshkhali issue. Droupadi Murmu sympathized with them and was disheartened by the incident.
