BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, West Bengal's BJP Chief Sukanta Majumdar addressed a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the situation of 'lawlessness and violence' in North 24 Parganas' Sandeshkali on 9th February, Friday.

In the letter, he informed Shah about the recent attacks on local tribal communities in Sandeshkali allegedly by Shahjahan Shaikh, Shibu Hazra, Uttam Sardar, and other 'TMC goons'. Sukanta further emphasized that an atmosphere of fear and insecurity has been created due to atrocities committed by Shahjahan Sheikh and his associates.

Furthermore, he urged the Home Minister to intervene and address the situation of lawlessness and violence in West Bengal, specifically in Sandeshkali. Sukanta stressed that the safety of citizens must be prioritized and strict actions must taken against the perpetrators.

The Sandeshkali district has been facing unrest and rampant violence since the mass attack on ED officials who were conducting raids on the residence of TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh on 5th January. Moreover, fresh violence erupted in Sandeshkali yesterday as the properties of absconding Shahjahan Shaikh and his associates were torched by some individuals.
