Relieved: Sheikh Alamgir On Brother Shahjahan Sheikh's Arrest

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Shortly after Shahjahan Sheikh's arrest, his brother Sheikh Alamgir on Thursday expressed relief and told about a potential defamation suit in case Shahjahan is proven innocent.

Sheikh Alamgir expressed relief as the whole family was worried about  Shahjahan Sheikh because he was untraceable for a prolonged period. Moreover, Alamgir further asserted that they will file a defamation suit against those who accused Shahjahan in case he has been proven innocent. However, if he is convicted, then the family will accept the decision. 

The Trinamool Congress has suspended arrested TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh from the party for six years. 

the controversial TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by West Bengal Police in the Minakhan area of North 24 Parganas. He has been awarded 10-day custody by a local court in Basirhat. Also, West Bengal CID is set to take over the probe into cases against Shahjahan Sheikh.

Furthermore, Shahjahan Sheikh has been absconding since 5th January when an ED team was attacked by a mob while conducting raids at Sheikh's residence.
