Prime Minister will attend the COP28 World Climate Action Summit

This climate conference will discuss what is known as the hottest year ever and the impact of the climate crisis on human lives and livelihoods around the world.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28 kicks off tomorrow, a conference to accelerate collective climate action. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra briefing the media on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the UAE for the COP28 World Climate Action Summit on this conference. Addressing reporters, he said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the summit tomorrow on December 1. At COP28, the Prime Minister will address the opening session. Apart from addressing the COP28, the Prime Minister will also participate in three high-level side events, two of which are co-hosted by India." The first high-level event was co-hosted by India and the UAE launched the Green Credit Initiative. 

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said, "The second side event jointly organized by India and Sweden is the launch of LeadIT 2.0. It is basically a leadership group for energy transition. It is a joint initiative launched by India and Sweden at the UN Climate Action in 2019. It is a New York summit.''

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra also said, "The Prime Minister will participate in another high-level event titled "Transforming Climate Finance". It will be held under the presidency of COP28 - UAE."
