President Droupadi Murmu Approves UCC In Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that UCC will soon be implemented as the President has approved it. Moreover, the UCC is also mentioned in BJP's election manifesto for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 called the 'Sankalp Patra'.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Uniform Civil Code has been passed in Uttarakhand as President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent to the code on April 17, Wednesday.

Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that UCC will soon be implemented as the President has approved it as well. Moreover, the UCC is also mentioned in BJP's election manifesto for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 called the 'Sankalp Patra'.

In a historic move, the Uttarakhand assembly passed the Uniform Civil Code bill on 7th February. Moreover, it also became the first state to pass the Uniform Civil Code after independence.
