BY A STAFF REPORTER: During his eventful visit to the northeast region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth Rs 17,500 crores in Jorhat, Assam on 9th March, Saturday.

Moreover, the developmental projects aim to foster growth in various sectors including infrastructure, rail, and roadways. Predominantly, this comprises the doubling of railway lines from Jorhat, Assam. Furthermore, PM Modi also inaugurated the statue of Lachit Borphukan in Jorhat. 

Earlier today, PM Modi inaugurated the Sela Tunnel in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. PM Modi also visited the Kaziranga National Park in Assam and interacted with the women vanguards of the park.
