'' No rule of traffic policing in certain areas of Kolkata ''

By A Staff Reporter: Chief minister proposes traffic safety but a section of traffic police officers shows utter reluctance to carry out the instructions. A few Kolkatans claimed to have lodged a complaint with the Kolkata police on rampant traffic violations and scent regard for red and green lights at several places in Kolkata raising fears of accidents and law and order problem.

Sources told ANM News that vulnerable spots like Topsia and Number four bridge crossing along the Park Circus connector, Diamond Harbour road from Ekbalpore to Kidderpore, Narkeldanga, Rajabazar, Garden Reach, Behala near Chowrasta and Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road near Quest Mall.

ANM News went around a few of these places and found out that motorists flout traffic rules and regulations and cross dangerously resulting in massive chances of accident.

Incidentally, ANM News hardly saw any traffic cops operating in the vicinity. ANM News brought the issue of citizen's complaint and subsequent situation to the notice of senior police officers. It remains to be seen whether any Kolkata traffic police takes any action on the complaints.
