No Legal Bar On Running Govt From Jail: Delhi HC Dismisses PIL

The Delhi HC stated that there's no scope for judicial interference in the political tussle as there's no legal prohibition on running government from the prison. It further asked the petitioner to consult the executive branch regarding the case.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Big relief for Arvind Kejriwal as the Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed PIL seeking 'resignation of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal' stating that there's no legal bar on running government from prison.

Moreover, the Delhi HC also stated that there's no scope for judicial interference in the political tussle as there's no legal prohibition on running government from the prison. It further asked the petitioner to consult the executive branch regarding the case. 

Furthermore, a Public Interest Litigation was filed in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Delhi's Chief Minister. The same petitioner also filed a PIL seeking orders to restrain Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal from issuing orders from custody.
