Nephro Care Launches ‘Shustho Chandannagar’ to Promote Public Health Awareness

By a Staff Reporter: Kolkata-based kidney care organization Nephro Care India Limited has launched a major health awareness campaign titled “Shustho Chandannagar” (Healthy Chandannagar) to promote preventive healthcare and wellness among residents. The initiative was inaugurated on Saturday at the Supreme Knowledge Foundation College Auditorium in Mankundu.

The campaign emphasizes preventive healthcare through free health screenings, expert-led seminars, and dietary consultations. Citizens received free checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, BMI, and oxygen saturation, along with professional dietary advice and healthy refreshments.

A health seminar conducted during the event focused on preventing lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disorders.

The launch was attended by several dignitaries, including Chandannagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Ram Chakraborty and Bhadreswar Municipal Corporation Chairman Pralay Chakraborty. Leading nephrologist and kidney transplant specialist Dr. Pratim Sengupta, serving as chief consultant for the initiative, stressed the importance of holistic healthcare.

“Modern medicine focuses not only on treating a single organ but on overall well-being. Our organization aims to follow this integrated approach,” said Dr. Sengupta.

As part of the campaign, Nephro Care also introduced “Mukti”, a program designed to improve both the physical and mental well-being of patients through comprehensive care.

Mayor Ram Chakraborty assured full support from the Chandannagar Municipal Corporation to maximize the reach of the initiative.

Organizers described Shustho Chandannagar as more than just a campaign, calling it a “movement” to transform the city into a model for public health awareness. A parallel tree plantation drive has also been undertaken under the program.
