BY A STAFF REPORTER: Champion Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra secured first position in the Men’s Javelin Throw at the Kalinga Federation Cup in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on May 15, Wednesday.
Chopra won gold with a throw of 82.27m. After securing victory, Chopra stated "The competition was very good. I felt good as I have played in India after a long time and many people have come to support."
As he will participate in the upcoming Paris Olympics, he expressed that the Paris Olympics will be tough as everyone is well prepared this time. Chopra also claimed that they have 2-3 competitions before the Olympics. Therefore, he will try to perform better in them.
Neeraj Chopra became the first track and field athlete to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics in 2021 in Tokyo, Japan with an 87.58m.
