BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Mumbai's Special NIA Court issued a bailable warrant of Rs. 10,000 against the Malegaon Bomb Blast accused and BJP MP Pragya Thakur on 11th March, Monday.

The Court issued the bailable warrant of Rs. 10,000 against BJP MP Pragya Thakur in a non-appearance matter while hearing the 2008 Malegaon Bomb Blast case. Despite being an accused in the matter, Pragya Thakur didn't appear for the hearing. Moreover, her lawyer filed an exemption application on medical grounds. However, the court dismissed the application and issued a bailable warrant which was returnable on 20th March.

The 2008 Malegaon blasts case took place on September 29, where two bikes exploded resulting in seven deaths and 100 injuries. BJP MP Pragya Thakur was allegedly involved in executing the blast as revenge for the 2006 Mumbai train blasts. Moreover, she allegedly executed the plan along with key conspirator Lt Col Prasad Purohit.
