Kolkata Airport witnessed significant disruptions on Thursday morning due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. The adverse weather conditions, which persisted from 05:00 IST to 09:30 IST, led to the diversion of 11 flights, while 2 aircraft had to return to the ramp. Despite the challenges, the airport managed 21 arrivals and 39 departures during the affected hours, with no reported cancellations.
The following flights were diverted:
1. IGO227 from Bangalore to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 07:36 IST.
2. IGO504 from Delhi to Kolkata, diverted to Ranchi at 07:39 IST.
3. AKJ192E from Ahmedabad to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 07:40 IST.
4. BDA208 from Mumbai to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 07:46 IST.
5. IGO1058 from Suvarnabhumi to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 08:03 IST.
6. AXB2753 from Bangalore to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 08:03 IST.
7. UAE2V from Dubai to Kolkata, diverted to Chennai at 08:04 IST.
8. IGO341Y from Pune to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 07:50 IST.
9. IGO83C from Mumbai to Kolkata, diverted to Ranchi at 08:19 IST.
10. IGO81QM from Shamshabad to Kolkata, diverted to Ranchi at 08:29 IST.
11. AIC2747 from Delhi to Kolkata, diverted to Bhubaneswar at 08:39 IST.
Additionally, AXB2701 from Bangalore to Kolkata was diverted to Shamshabad at 08:22 IST.
