Metiabruz Collapse: Death Toll Rises To 8. Governor Reaches The Site

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In an unfortunate incident, eight people lost their lives in the Metiabruz building collapse incident in South Kolkata, West Bengal on March 18, Monday.

Moreover, West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose reached the site where an under-construction, five-storey building collapsed in a densely populated area. Earlier today, CM Mamata Banerjee also reached the spot and alleged that the building didn't receive any permission from the state government and was being constructed illegally. 

Several others were trapped under the debris of the collapsed building. Around 20 people have been rescued so far. Rescue operations and further investigations are underway.
