Massive crowd at Gangasagar, security tight

Avijit Nandi Majumdar, Gangasagar: Lakhs of devotees took a dip at the holy Gangasagar even as security personnel and Indian Coast Guard officials kept a tight vigil.

Indian Coast Guard hovercrafts were parked at Gangasagar and Haldia for any untoward incident and for rescue operations. Officials mentioned that there has not been any such incident till the time of filing this report.

ANM News took a round of the mela ground and personally saw the arrangements to find that it has been well organised with sufficient toilets, changing room and rest rooms for the devotees.

There were regular announcements and although quite a few people suddenly found themselves cut off from their relatives in the massive crowd, they were quickly recovered.
