BY A STAFF REPORTER: A day after her controversial remark, Tamil Nadu's Madurai City Cyber Police on Wednesday registered a case against Union Minister Shobha Karandjale for passing remarks against the people of Tamil Nadu.

The case was registered after Thiyagaranjan filed a complaint against Shobha Karandjale's controversial remarks. Moreover, the DMK also filed a complaint to the Election Commission of India against Shobha Karandjale, accusing her of violating the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and Model Code of Conduct. The DMK has accused her of promoting enmity and causing tensions among the people of Tamil Nadu.

Union Minister Shobha Karandjale referred to the Rameshwaram Cafe explosion incident and stated "People from Tamil Nadu come here, get trained there, plant bombs here and placed a bomb in the cafe" while addressing presspersons in Nagarthpete, Central Bengaluru on March 19, Tuesday.

However, Shobha Karandjale apologized to the people of Tamil Nadu for the statement through her X handle. She posted "To my Tamil brothers & sisters, I wish to clarify that my words were meant to shine light, not cast shadows. Yet I see that my remarks brought pain to some - and for that, I apologize. My remarks were solely directed towards those trained in the Krishnagiri forest,"

The NIA took over the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case on 5th March on the orders of the Home Ministry. Furthermore, a small-scale blast occurred at Bengaluru's famous Rameshwaram Cafe, Karnataka on 1st March. The blast resulted in nine injuries.
