AJC Bose Flyover, Shakespeare Sarani and Park Street: Major traffic curbs on card

BY A STAFF REPORTER: If you are on the way to Dalhousie or Esplanade from either Park Circus or Salt Lake or anywhere in the eastern part of the city, avoid taking the AJC Bose portion of the flyover. Speaking exclusive to ANM News, city police chief Vineet Goyal mentioned that traffic is getting unnecessarily clogged near SSKM hospital where the vehicles from the AJC Bose flyover drops down on way to western and south western part of the city as well as to Esplanade and Dalhousie. Kolkata police will henceforth restrict and stop any U-turn and vehicular movement on the right from the AJC Bose Flyover near the SSKM Hospital. Traffic police has advised motorists to use the Park Street while going towards Esplanade and Dalhousie from Park Circus and eastern part of Kolkata.

''The Park Circus is wide and movement of vehicles is fast and there are no snarl ups,'' a senior police officer said. Police are considering to keep Park Street permanently one way from East to West while Shakespeare Sarani will be permanently one way from West to East.
