By A Staff Reporter

The long queue in front of the Lounge in the first floor before the boarding gates of Kolkata Airport is definitely a disappointment for passengers hungry and waiting to take a short rest. According to information available through airport authority sources, the TFS Lounge in the first floor of the domestic airport is often crowded with passengers. The Lounge offer resting place and food for passengers with authorised credit cards, Priority pass and those travelling in business class. The situation caught the attention of Kolkata airport director Pravat Ranjan Beuria during a routine inspection of the airport.

Kolkata airport authorties acknowledged that several complaints of standing in long queue which resulted in crucial time being wasted, has poured in to their office, forcing senior management to spring into action. “I have spoken to the TFS Lounge authorities and discussed the issue. They have promised me to come up with a solution within the next few months. The long queue is a problem for passengers and I am trying hard to solve it as soon as possible,” airport director Beuria said.

ANM News have learnt that there is a sizeable amount of space adjacent to the current Lounge and efforts are currently on to develop that area into another counter. Airport authorities claimed that once the new Lounge comes up, the queue of passengers in front of the counters will ease.
