Kerala: TTE Dies After Passenger Pushes Him Off The Train

TTE EK Vinod was checking the tickets of passengers who were largely migrant workers. Subsequently, he got into an altercation with Rajanikanth as he didn't carry a ticket. Rajanikanth pushed the TTE to death afterwards.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a tragic incident, a passenger allegedly pushed TTE EK Vinod off the Ernakulam-Patna Express after seeking a ticket in Kerala on April 2, Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 7:00 PM in the S11 coach of the train at Velappaya, Thrissur, amid the Mulangunnathukavu and Wadakkanchery Railway Stations. TTE EK Vinod shortly succumbed to his injuries. 

As per sources, the accused, Rajanikanth, is a migrant labourer and not a resident of Kerala. TTE EK Vinod was checking the tickets of passengers who were largely migrant workers. Subsequently, he got into an altercation with Rajanikanth as he didn't carry a ticket. Rajanikanth pushed the TTE to death afterwards. 

The Palakkad Railway Police has taken Rajanikanth into custody. He will be transferred to the Thrissur Police shortly. Further investigations are underway.
