BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, G Janardhan Reddy merged Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha with BJP in Bengaluru on March 25, Monday.

Moreover, Reddy's wife Aruna Lakshmi also joined the party in the presence of party leader BS Yediyurappa and state BJP President BY Vijayendra.

After merging his party, G Janardhan Reddy stated "Today I joined BJP by merging my party with BJP. I will work as a BJP worker to make PM Modi, Prime Minister for the 3rd time. I have joined the party without any conditions, I don't need any positions".

The move comes ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
