BY A STAFF REPORTER: Days after the Jharkhand political crisis, JMM MLA and Hemant Soren's sister-in-law Sita Soren tendered her resignation from the membership of the ruling-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on March 19, Tuesday.

Daughter-in-law of JMM founder Shibu Soren, Sita Soren has served thrice as an MLA from the Jama constituency. The reason behind her resignation is yet to be ascertained. However, Sita Soren reportedly raised demands to become the next CM of Jharkhand, after Hemant Soren.

Furthermore, Sita Soren was imprisoned for seven months in 2012 for receiving money to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections.

Jharkhand witnessed a significant political crisis when ED officials arrested former CM Hemant Soren under PMLA in connection with the alleged land and mining scam case. He was arrested shortly after resigning from the post of CM. Subsequently, Champai Soren was elected by JMM MLAs as the new CM of Jharkhand. Earlier, ED seized 36 lakh in cash and and two luxury cars from Soren's Delhi residence as he remained untraceable for 30 hours.
