BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, Janata Dal (Secular) workers staged a protest against ST Somashekhar's cross-voting and burnt his effigy in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 27th February, Tuesday. 

The move comes after BJP MLA ST Somashekhar exercised his vote for the Indian National Congress during the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka. 

The JDS party, led by former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, is predominantly active in Karnataka and Kerala. Furthermore, it has formed a coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
