IT department raids former MLA's house

BY A STAFF REPORTER: A commotion has been caused due to raids at several places in Asansol's Barnpur in the early hours of Wednesday. Central forces have surrounded the Rahmatnagar house of former MLA and TMC leader Sohrab Ali. According to sources, Central Investigation Agency officials arrived here in nine vehicles. The Income Tax Department team arrived there around 5:30 am. The investigation began. If reports are to be believed, apart from Rahmat Nagar, the Central Investigation Agency's raids in several other areas of Asansol, especially the iron merchants' premises.
