BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a controversial statement, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Kunal Ghosh on Saturday slammed Union Minister Darshana Jardosh and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty while challenging authorities to impose Article 356.

Ghosh further warned them not to threaten the state government with such 'tactics'. Moreover, he argued that Mithun Chakraborty's statements are baseless.

BJP MP Mithun Chakraborty and Union Minister Darshana Jardosh criticized Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government for violence-hit Sandeshkali and atrocities against residents of the WB village.

Moreover, NCSC Chief Arun Haldar also suggested the imposition of President's Rule in West Bengal citing the state government's involvement in the failure of law and order in the village.

Article 356 of the Indian Constitution empowers the President to dismiss the state government and impose the President's rule in case constitutional machinery fails in the state.
